She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin James Newhart and Mary Ella Newhart Mather (Sorrell); her brothers, William James "Jim" Newhart and David Newhart; her daughter-in-law Virginia Hagin; and her close friends, Edgar "Ed" Rightmire and Thomas Bothwell.
She is survived by: her children, Maureen Varney of Moravia, Michael Hagin (Eileen) of Moravia, Patrick Hagin (Deborah) of Scipio Center, John Hagin (Tammy) and Randy Hagin; and her sisters-in-law, Marjorie Newhart of Moravia and Sharon Newhart. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
