With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Vai of Naples, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 31, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Dennis may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Peter and Madeline Vai (Gruccio); his sister Barbara Gentles (Vai); his brother-in-law Harold Gentles; his nephew Dennis Vai; and his brother-in-law Frank Battaglia.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Vai (Nancy) of Connecticut, Diane Schmidt (Al) of Pennsylvania and Janet Battaglia of New Hampshire; and his pet Chase. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Thomas the Apostle Church (60 Byrd Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003).
