We announce the death of Emiko Burns of New Hartford, New York, who passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Emiko will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kichitaro Kitazume and Chika Kitazume (Shire); her husband Lawrence Burns; and her son-in-law Bert Kaiser. She is survived by: her children, Michael J. Burns of New Hartford and Eileen Burns of Palm Bay, Florida; her grandchildren, Noah, Connor and Lisa Sowich; her sister Toshiko Fukuda; her niece Yukiko; her nephew Kazuya; and her brothers, Shinech Kitazume of Japan and Shitoshi Kitazume of Japan.
