He was predeceased by: his wife Marion; his son Mark Thomas; his siblings-in-law, Sister Patricia Woolheater and Louis Watts; his parents, Robert Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas; and his in-laws, Martin and Ethel Woolheater.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Jr. (Beth Thomas), Robert Thomas, Jennifer (Leslie Bailey) and Kimberly (Daniel Hind); his sisters, Anne Thomas and Gail Lallier; his in-laws, Barbara, Bob Kaelin, Nancy Watts, Tom, Liz Woolheater, Linda Mierek and Rita Stefanski; his grandchildren, Sarah, Matt Burns, Andrew Thomas (Gianna Arcuri), Matthew, Alexander, Madalynn Bailey, Brent Thomas, Chase and Mason Hind; and his great grandchild Adeline Burns. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
