He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nielson and Eva Miller Refo Nielson; and his siblings, Pam Nielson and Frank Nielson. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ellen Nielson of New Paltz; his sons, Mark Nielson (Heather) of Gardiner, Matthew Nielson (Michelle) of Highland, Michael Nielson (Nikki) of New Paltz and CJ Nielson of Gardiner; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Sean, Grace, Savannah, Nicolene, Norah, Amy and Eva.
