He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles VerStraete and Geraldine VerStraete; and his siblings, Dawn Nieskes and David VerStraete. He is survived by: his son Christopher VerStraete (Erika) of Phelps; his grandson Cameron; his brother Paul VerStraete (Lynne); his siblings-in-law, Ron Nieskes and Shirley VerStraete; and his nieces and nephews, Kim Maher (Jeff), Jeff Nieskes (Cheryl) and Melanie Spinner (Matthew).
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial contributions in memory of Alan be made to the Phelps Fire Department PO Box 81, Phelps NY 14532.
