He was predeceased by: his parents, George Pinckney and Marie Long Counts; his grandfather Deacon Joe; his brothers, Edward Counts and Leonard Counts; and his sons, Reginald and Shawn.
He is survived by: his sister Ruth Cochran Long; his friend Margaret Pugh Counts; his wife Margaret; his children, Anthony, Ronnie (Donnie), Tony (Jacqueline), Chris, Maurice, Latoya and Carolyn; his sisters, Elneda Counts, Marion Jones and Carmella Pinckney; his siblings-in-law, Thurman Pugh (Patricia) and Patricia Counts; and his friend Dea. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
