He was predeceased by : his parents, Domingo Rivera and Antonia Burgos; his close friend Edith Fernandez; and his sisters, Lucrecia, Georgina and Gladys.

He is survived by : his sisters, Sylvia and Casilda; and his brothers-in-law, Jose and Enriquez. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, 5 step-children, 20 step-grandchildren, 18 step- great-grandchildren, and a host of neighbors and friends.
