She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Claude Rodgers of Edenton, NC and Annie Mae Newby Rodgers of Shiloh, NC; her siblings, Thomas Junior Rodgers, Clarence Elvin Rodgers, Wilhelmena Rodgers Carter and James Collins Rodgers; her husband James H. Mortimer, III; her son James H. Mortimer, IV; her grandson James H. Mortimer; and her siblings-in-law, William Granby, Sr., Henry Lloyd Carter, Sr. and Ethel Bembury Rodgers.

She is survived by: her daughter Chantese Green (Jabron Green) of New York City; her grandchildren, Bianca Marcelino of New York City, Jalin Sinclair of New York City and Tyler Mortimer of Maine; her great grandchild Rylee Bond of New York City; and her siblings, Mary Elizabeth Granby (late William Granby, Sr.) of Virginia Beach, VA and Walter Lee Rodgers (Melicent Knight Rodgers) of Hyattsville, MD. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, friends.
