She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Joyner-Najieb and Grace Rattley; her children, Kenneth Nelson and Monique Alston; her grandchildren, Lloyd Nelson, Naquan Claire (Latoya), Malik Alston and Ebony Nelson; and her great grandchildren, Jayden Barker, Mason Claire and Collin Claire.
