Robin Mack Key Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robin Mack Key of New York, New York, born in Evanston, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 30, 2026 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Robin leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Robin may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

She is survived by: her husband David M. Key; and her children, Mckendree Key of Brooklyn, NY, Lindsay Key of Winhall and Ely Key of Rockport. She is also survived by four grandchildren.

In 2018, Ms. Key was elevated to the Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects in recognition of her contributions to the profession and to the stewardship of cultural landscapes. She was supported in her nomination by friends and colleagues including landscape architect Thomas Woltz and Cultural Landscape Foundation president and CEO Charles Birnbaum, both longtime collaborators and advocates for her work.
