He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tomazin and Agnes Tomazin (Konchon); his wife Julia (Doolittle); his son-in-law Calvin Gehen; his siblings, Herman, Albert, Edward, Leonard, John and Agnes Lahoda; his parents-in-law, Cletus and Thelma Doolittle; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Lahoda, Henry Ludlum and Ann Tomazin.
He is survived by: his sister Dorothy Ludlum of Longmont; his siblings-in-law, Karen Doolittle, Thelma Wright, Delores Carra, James Doolittle (Jane), Cletus Doolittle, Jr., Bill Doolittle, Arthur Doolittle, Frank Carra and Bernadette Slick; and his children, Carol Gehen of Newark Valley, Joseph Jr. (Kris) of Newark Valley, Deborah D'Angelo (Anthony) of Camillus, NY, Martin (Cindy) of Wallkill, NY, Robert (Julie) of Berkshire and Kenneth (Sheila) of Boca Raton, Florida.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
