He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Torelli Root; his parents, Lorraine Florence Lennon Root and Clarence "Bob" Howard Root; his siblings, Jean Wheeler and James Allen Root; and his siblings-in-law, Isabelle Pizza, Rhoda Torelli and Daniel Torelli.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Root (Melissa), James Root (Marissa) and Joseph Root (Stephanie); his siblings, Jen Scalzo (Frank), Susan Ulrich and Robert Root; and his brother-in-law Tony Pizza. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
