He is survived by: his wife Joan H. Gnida Ponesse; his son Carl J. Ponesse (Jeannette Kennedy-Ponesse); his siblings, Frieda Formato and Robert Ponesse of New Windsor; and his nephew Steven Ponesse of New Windsor.
