He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Detz and Dorothy Detz. He is survived by: his wife Lucille Detz; his daughter Christine Gustafson; his son-in-law David Gustafson; his grandsons, Matthew and Sean Gustafson; his siblings, Mary (Mike Magee), Desiree (Tom Abruscatto) and Michael; and his parents-in-law, Frank, Jen Scalzo, Tom, Peg Scalzo and Dolores Carleton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
