He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles I. Nelson and Elsie E. Nelson (Ralph). He is survived by: his son Jonathan W. Nelson (Diana) of Newburgh; his grandsons, Timothy Nelson (Nicole Norton) and Jonathan Nelson, II (Amanda); his significant other Donna V. Mullins; his significant other's son Timothy Mullins (Tomoko); his great grandchildren, Summer, Mackenzie, Aubrie, Peyton Nelson and Apollonia Sutton; his brother Charles R. Nelson of New York, NY.; and also, Ayumi, Todd Mullins (Cristina), Tatianna Sutton (Matt), Justine and Esvetlana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the Deacon's Fund at the Moulton Memorial Baptist Church.
