He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Ponessi (Martino) of Newburgh, NY.; his siblings, Louis Ponessi and Thomasina Bello; and his son James Michael Ponessi. He is survived by: his father Joseph John Ponessi; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Ponessi and Doris Brady; and his children, Patricia DeStefano, Linda Giammarco (Ronald), Joseph Ponessi II, Elizabeth Ponessi and Joe. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
