He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Mitchell and Martha Mitchell; and his siblings, Raymond Mitchell, Martha Mitchell and Mae Hoey.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Mitchell (McGrath); his sons, Brian, Mark and Christopher; his stepdaughter Marie Shuey of Pennsylvania; his grandson James Mitchell of Cornwall; his sisters, Shirley Hoey and Joan McCarthy; and his pet Penny. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties.
