He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Doolittle and Thelma Doolittle (Rynearson); and his siblings, Cletus Doolittle, Bernadette Slick, William Joseph Doolittle, Julia Tomazin, Arthur Doolittle and Dolores Carra.
He is survived by: his wife Jane; his sons, James Doolittle II (Tami) and Steven Doolittle (Rachel); his grandsons, James Doolittle III (Cesia), Benjamin Doolittle (Mikayla Fraccola) and Andrew Doolittle; and his sister Thelma Wright. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home (23 South St, Trumansburg, NY 14886). A Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. James Catholic Church (17 Whig St, Trumansburg, NY 14886).
