We announce the death of Dawn Sweeney (Newport, New York), who passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 88. Dawn will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Pagliarulo and Angelina Pagliarulo (Pape); her sister Thea Matterese (John); and her sister-in-law Peggy Pagliarulo. She is survived by: her husband John Sweeney; her children, Sheila Sacks (Wayne) of Belle Harbor, NY and Sean Sweeney (Lynn Kenny) of Norfolk, CT; her grandchildren, Paul, Elizabeth Sacks of Belle Harbor, Aidan of Norfolk, Conall of Norfolk, Nora Kate of Norfolk and Finn Sweeney of Norfolk; and her brother Frank Pagliarulo of Crystal Lake, IL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
