He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul L. Trane and Mary Louise Trane (Watt); and his grandson Logan Alexander Trane. He is survived by: his wife Pamela R. Trane (Trowman); his son Daniel J. Trane II (Catherine Jayes); his grandchildren, Mackenzie Krell and Daniel J. Trane III; and his siblings, Pearl Lankin (late Joseph), Leonard Trane (Judy Gunzelman), Anthony Trane (Judy) and Patricia Vendetti. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice House.
