We announce the death of Joan L. North of Niagara Falls, New York, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Palermo and Teresa Palermo (Gallina); her son Gerry; her daughter-in-law Lynette North; her great grandchild Lyla; and her siblings, Joseph, Salvatore Palermo, Josephine Rosenbaum and Marion Dashineau.

She is survived by: her children, Jon North, Sheree McDermott (Jamie) and Anne Scherer (Tom); her grandchildren, James P. McDermott III, Jennifer McDermott, Benjamin McDermott (Kelly), Adam McDermott (Lindsay), Zachary North and Matthew North; her nieces, Teresa Slipko (Gordy), Michele Dashineau and Paulette Wingert; her nephew Sal Palermo (Linda); and her friend Peggy LePage. She is also survived by nine loving great‑grandchildren.
