He is survived by: his daughters, Martissa Muwwakkil (Talat), Lani Ward and Melody Ward; his grandchildren, Zaya Ward and Tahira Muwwakkil; his siblings, Vivian Bland (late Roosevelt) and Michael Thornton; the mother of his children Melodie Ward; his nephew Michael Thornton, Jr.; and his friends, Clifford Tabb and Tyree Cox. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
