He is survived by: his children, Michael R. Cavanaugh of Bellport, NY, Melanie C. Connolly (William) of Youngstown, NY and Misty Brand of Stockbridge, GA.; his siblings, William J. Cavanaugh (Marie) of Memphis, TN, John D. Cavanaugh (Cheri) and Kathleen M. Palazzo of Niagara Falls, NY.; his grandchildren, Samara Lee Elia of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sierra Sabiha Elia of Myrtle Beach, SC, Arianna Mary-Colleen Elia of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cailin Margaret Cavanaugh of Bellport, NY, Sophia Lee Cavanaugh of Bellport, NY, Emma Grace Cavanaugh of Bellport, NY, Kiera Bierstedt of Denver, CO, Teigan Grace Connolly of Youngstown, NY, Josh T. Brand of Savannah, GA and Jake M. Brand of Stockbridge, GA.; and his great grandchildren, Amelia S. Brand and Margo M. Brand of Savannah, GA.. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins.
