She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl D. Henderson and Beatrice Henderson Sr. (Schrieber); her husband Marvin C. "Smitty" Schmidt Jr.; her son Ralph Bird; and her siblings, James Henderson (Evelyn), Carl "Butch" Henderson Jr., Anita E. Stevens and Helen Henderson (Shane).

She is survived by: her children, Tracy Huff, Glenn Bird (Julee) and Kurt Bird (Gail); and her grandchildren, Lauren (Lisa), Glenn Jr., Anthony, Cassie and Alex.
