He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlowe Eugene and Martha T. Pearson (Bird). He is survived by: his spouse Shanda L. Pearson (Smiley); his stepchildren, Ashley Smiley, Leah Sarsfield (Alex) and Kayla Wolfe; his grandchildren, Caleb, Kayleigh, Cody and Olive; his siblings, Susan Martin, Barb Gaetano and Keith'Kippy'Pearson; and his friend Scott McIntyre (Christine). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the American Cancer Society.
