He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Joseph and Philomena 'Lucille' Mauro (Adams). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen A. Bartel; his daughter Janelle Katz (Ryan); his siblings, David Mauro (Mary Jane), Sharon Kelman (late John) and Dennis Mauro; his pet Thor; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Bartel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
