He was predeceased by: his sister Marguerite "Missy" Wassong. He is survived by: his brothers, Howard, Jr. and Richard; his wife Jacqueline; his children, Edward, Jr. (Angela), Adam (Jill), Ryan (Lauren) and Chelsea Mero; his grandchildren, Austin, Shane, Dean, Megan and Harper; and also Dakotah.

Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
