He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Gent and Mary Beckens Gent; his wife Doris; his siblings, Sharon, Tammy Gent and Roger Gent; and his close friend Ruth Lewis.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Gent and David Gent of Sodus; his granddaughter Pamela; and his sisters, Harriet, Margaret and Mary Jane.
