He is survived by: his parents, George Mertz, and Carmella Mertz, Jr. (DeBonzo); his wife Sara E. Mertz of North Syracuse, NY; his son Anthony J. Mertz; and his brothers, Jason of Cicero, NY. and Aaron Mertz of Cicero, NY.. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
