It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn A. Scherer of Northport, New York, who passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Wilbur Scherer, Sr.; and her sisters, Loretta Gardiner and Jane Oswald. She is survived by: her children, Wilber Scherer, Jr. (Katherine) and Jo Anne Saleme (Raul); her grandchildren, Jonathan Saleme, Elizabeth Zelnick (Nicholas) and William Scherer (Nicole Perkins); and her great grandchildren, Andrew Zelnick and Erin Zelnick.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Nolan Funeral Home, Inc. (5 Laurel Ave, Northport, NY 11768). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Northport Rural Cemetery (23 Sandy Hollow Rd, Northport, NY 11768).
