He was predeceased by: his parents, George C. Bailey and Violet Lozo Bailey; his siblings, Roger, Bob and Nancy Curtis; his son-in-law Andrew Schneider; his nephews, Michael Bailey, Robert Bailey and Toby Edwards; and his niece Cassandra Lee.

He is survived by: his wife Roberta "Bobbie" Bailey; his siblings, Dick Bailey (Shirley) and Dorothy Edwards; his children, George E. Bailey Jr., Michele Reidell (Erik), Stacy Schneider, Susan Whitman (Scott) and Kim Green; his grandchildren, Alicia, Ashley Reidell, Nathaniel (Cailin), Nicholas Schneider, Seth, Jayce Whitman, Bradley, Jonathan and Jacob Steenburgh; and his great grandchildren, Weslie Schneider and Arlo Costa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Mt. Valley Hospice or James A. Brennan Humane Society.
