He was predeceased by : his parents, William Hanmer and Doris E. Sanders Hanmer; and his siblings, Harold Hanmer and Kay Burton. He is survived by : his daughter Ginger Smith (Chuck) of Northville; his brother Larry Sanders of Lassellsville; and his grandchildren, Misty Russell (Josh), Amanda Edwards (Michael), Charles Peek (MaKayla) and Jason Peek (Amber). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
