He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Nelson and Mary Nelson (Locicero). He is survived by: his wife Della Nelson (Ike) of Norwich; his daughter Tamara Caputo (Tony) of Connecticut; his stepchildren, Jeffrey Jacklin (Rae) of Norwich and Lori Cooper of Norwich; his grandchildren, Heather, Kameron (Victoria), Raymond, Kaylee (Don), Courtney (David) and Ryan; his great grandchildren, Sebastian and Madison; and his grandchildren, Joe Cooper and Kamil Alexander.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (75 Calvary Dr, Norwich, NY 13815). During Covid, he went as far as to pay for groceries for strangers.
