He is survived by: his wife Doris Townsend; his stepchildren, Renee Jones (Rob), Theresa Tiffany (Steve), Lisa Parmalee (James), Daniel Oliver (Corinna), Robert Oliver (Laura), Osmond Oliver (Kerry), Lorraine Franklin (Dennis), Karen LaVancha, Tyma Oliver (Lynn), Clifford Oliver (Clarice) and Sandra Whaley (Verne); and his siblings, Bruce Townsend (Sharon), Albert "Butch" Townsend (Darlene) and Jean Franklin. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
