He was predeceased by: his parents, Starr Schermerhorn and Mary Schermerhorn (Wright); his grandson Brandon Franklin; and his brother-in-law Emerton "John" McNeil. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Schermerhorn of Norwich; his children, Amy Franklin (Mark) of Syracuse, NY and Matthew Schermerhorn (Kathy) of West Seneca, NY; his grandchildren, Megan Schermerhorn, Billy Schermerhorn, Connor Schermerhorn and Blaine Franklin; his sister Mary Rose Buss (Rick) of Raleigh, NC; his nieces and nephews, Renee Roberts (Terry), William McNeil (Riannon), Sara Rem (Jon) and Eric Buss (Elizabeth); his aunt Beatrice George (Wright) of Norwich; and his sister-in-law Linda McNeil of Hendersonville, NC.
