James Epps Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Epps (Nyack, New York), who passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Epps to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his mother Hattie Epps (Abraham); his siblings, William, Samuel, Westley, Robert Epps, Catherine McFadden, Mary Lowery and Johnnie Mae Epps; and his daughter-in-law Donna McFadden.

He is survived by: his father Johnnie Epps; his wife Katie; his children, Letroy McFadden of Leesburg, Virginia, Patricia Jeffries of Fort Washington, Linda Epps of Chestnut Ridge, James "Jimmy" Epps (Frances) of Spring Valley and Terry Rene Hodge (Brian) of Brooklyn; his sister Pearlean Lowery of New Zion; and his sister-in-law Eleanor Epps of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In February 2024, he was honored with the Rockland County Buffalo Soldiers Award in recognition of his service and contributions to the community.
