She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Tyler and Mary Tyler (MacAvoi); her husband Donald Hensel; her grandson Geoffrey Blew; her children-in-law, Roda Hensel and John Hearn; and her sister Carol Laney.
She is survived by: her children, Douglas Hensel (Nancy) of Oakfield, Cheryl Peletz of Bloomville, Mark Hensel of Batavia, Rene Hearn of Jamestown, Jan Hensel (Jeffrey Heubusch) of Batavia, Jill Arnold (Dan) of Oakfield and Tracy Zakes (Kevin) of Oakfield; and her brother James Tyler (Patricia). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home (333 W Main St, Batavia, NY 14020). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Padre Pio Parish (56 Maple Ave, Oakfield, NY 14125).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or to Oakfield Fire Department, 20 Albert Street, Oakfield, NY 14125.
