With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Athena Mountanos (Oceanside, New York), who passed away on May 24, 2026 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her husband Haralambos Mountanos; and her siblings, Loula Kourmousis (Skoufis), Andreas Skoufis, Anastasios Skoufis, Dimitrios Skoufis and Michael Skoufis.
She is survived by: her children, Eleni Mantikas (Mountanos), George Mountanos and Gus Mountanos; her son-in-law Dimitrios Mantikas; and her grandchildren, Anjelica Mantikas, Michael Mantikas, Tristan Mountanos and Marianna Minos.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Towers Funeral Home, Inc. (2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY 11572). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (2421 Hewlett Ave, Merrick, NY 11566).
