She was predeceased by : her sisters, Irene Kelley, Betty Chambers, Barbara Fuller and Margaret Denny; her son-in-law Adam Measheaw; her parents, William L. Johnston and Lucy I. Johnston (Barber); and her former life partner Melvin Bruce Perry.

She is survived by : her husband Ellis R. Laplante of Dexter, NY; her children, Melvin Perry of Cape Vincent, NY and Nancy Measheaw of Ogdensburg, NY; and her sister Donna Bennett of Ogdensburg, NY. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
