He was predeceased by: his sister Barbara McPherson; his daughters, Tonia Carr and Brooke Williams; his granddaughter Morgan Gagnon; and his parents, Francis George and Marion George (Smith).

He is survived by: his significant other Robin Tulip of Ogdensburg; his daughter Hillary Mitchell (Brian) of Ogdensburg; his sister Diane "Rita" Johnson of Ogdensburg; his brother-in-law Ronald Johnson; his daughter Erin Ferris (Michael); his grandchildren, Sadie Mitchell, Gracelind, Greta, Graeah Ferris, Cydnee Mee, Logan Gaylord, MaCaylee Williams and Hayden Summers; and his nieces and nephews, Denise Bertrand of Ogdensburg, Kim McPherson of Syracuse, Buck Johnson of Ogdensburg and Rob McPherson of Florida. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
