He was predeceased by: his sister Sheila Hires; his brother-in-law Chuck Putman; and his parents, John "Jack" Reed and Rose Reed (Greenier). He is survived by: his wife Donna Kinch; his sons, John Reed (Sue) of Hermon and Joseph Reed (Lucy) of Ogdensburg; his stepchildren, Haskell Sobon (Nancy Fishbeck) of Ogdensburg, Tim Towsley (Lorna) of Prescott Ontario and Debbie Durham (Mike) of Ogdensburg; his grandchildren, Misty Griffith, Jhenna Reed (Matt Caufield), John Reed (Kristen), Brooke Swain (Andrew), Michael Reed (Kelea), Logan Reed (Jake Garnez), Melanie Williams (Scott) and Ben Sobon (Alexa); his great grandchildren, Connor, Camden Griffith, Hailey Reed, William, Amya LaFlair, Aliya, Chloe Best, Joplin and Avery Reed; his great great grandchild Jacob Garnez; his sisters, Barb Brisson (Pierre) of Ogdensburg and Elaine Putman of Ogdensburg; and his former wives, Joanne Madlin and Mary Sobin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In keeping with John's generous spirit, memorial contributions may be made to the Ogdensburg Boys & Girls Club or St. Joseph's Home.
