He was predeceased by: his daughter Tricia Marie Dumas; his brothers, Frank and Mark Dumas; his mother-in-law Helen Jock; and his parents, Francis William and Nellie Martha Ryan Dumas.

He is survived by: his wife Rhonda; his son Jake Dumas (Deanna Buckshot-Thompson) of Massena; his grandchildren, Kawiisio Thompson, Rian Dumas and Kolson Dumas; and his siblings, Ann Dumas, Allen Dumas of Louisville, Thomas Dumas of Louisville, Susan Bracy, Kathy, Al DeRosa, Janice Dumas of Malone, Amy Dumas of Malone, Emily, Terry Cota of Massena, Hope Dumas, Karl Buddemeyer, Patty, Scott Henry of Massena, Mary and Mark Putney of Watertown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
