She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Gates and Eulalia Schmitt Gates; her husband Dr. Albert F. X. Gunther; and her siblings, James Gates, Daniel Gates, Constance Plandowski and Kathryn Gates.
She is survived by: her children, Matthew Gunther of Olean, Timothy Gunther (Robyn) of Bergen, Madonna Warters (John) of Elkton, MD, Margaret Gilroy, Jr. (William) of Olean, Susan Pfeiffer (Ronald) of Olean, Nancy Martin (Daniel) of Olean, Bonnie Shewairy (Michael) of Marana, AZ, Michael Gunther (Stephanie) of Temecula, CA, David Gunther of Olean and Kevin Gunther (Angela) of Amherst; and her siblings, Rosie Baker of Florida and Herman Gates of Milwaukee, WI. She is also survived by thirty three grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren.
