He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John J. Amann and Ruth Leonard Amann; his daughter Lori Threadgill (Eric) of North Carolina; his grandsons, Zack VanVorst (Kayla) and Cody VanVorst; his great grandchildren, Jason VanVorst and Liam VanVorst; and his pet Tyler. He was also cherished by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.
