He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, William C. Sterling and Elizabeth Sterling (Lewis); his wife Joan B. Halstead; his children, William C. Sterling, II of Canastota, Heather (James Pritchard) and Laurel Sterling (Tony Patterelli); his brothers, Alan Sterling of Canastota and Rhys (Joyce Sterling); and his grandchildren, Sarah (Luke Aubin), Evan Pritchard, Joanna Pritchard and Lily Prisco. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
