She was predeceased by : her parents, Bruce Slater and Jennie Slater (Droiski); her former life partner Francis Smith; her son Stanley Smith; and her sisters, Roseanna Slater and Beatrice Merritt.
She is survived by : her husband A. Sherman Whitney; her sister Virginia Worden; her daughter-in-law Dolores Smith; her sons, Peter and Joseph; her stepchildren, Kenneth Whitney (Judy), Karen Smith (Rich) and Keith Whitney (Anna); and her pet Happy. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
