We announce the death of Vivian D. Nelsen of Oneonta, New York, who passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Bensen and Constanse Bensen (Johnsen) of Norway; her husband Odd Palmer Nelsen; her brother Andrew Bensen; and her children-in-law, Wendy Nelsen and Steven Carlsen.
She is survived by: her children, Ruth Carlsen, John Nelsen (Jenn) and Susan Edmonds (Jeff); her grandsons, Jonathan Nelsen (Desiree), Jack and Luke Edmonds; her great grandchildren, Wesley, Sonny and Jonah Nelsen; and her granddaughters, Chyanne and Kaitlyn.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory (88 Lucy Ave, Hershey, PA 17033).
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
