He was predeceased by: his son John J. O'Leary III; his parents, John O'Leary and Shirley O'Leary (Troidl); and his sister Kathy O'Leary. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Dear (Casselberry); his children, Shannon Labedz (Darren), Lisa Donovan (Timothy) and Brian O'Leary (Kelly Taylor); his grandchildren, Miranda (Mark), Hannah (Nathan), Carter, Ryan (Samantha), Patrick, Nathan, Matthew and Ashley; his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Sophie; and his siblings, Patsy Sullivan (Chris), Margaret Hurley (Patrick), Mickey O'Leary (Mary Jo), Anne Roberts (late James) and Robert O'Leary (Lisa LaPenna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was proud to have been able to donate his body to the UB Anatomical Gift Program.
