It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merrill E. Trefzer of Orchard Park, New York, who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Trefzer (Donohue Farrell); his stepdaughter Sarah Donohue Coyle (Brian); his parents, Esther Trefzer (Scheibel) and Ernest Trefzer; and his cousins, Audrey, Kenneth Kolbe, Edward Huenniger, Ellen Binder, Janet Spencer, Barbara Lipiew and Robert Skinner.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Brigid Farrell Dunn (Peter); and his stepgrandchildren, James, Patrick Coyle, Katharine and Elisabeth Dunn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the James W. Cannan Funeral Home (3155 Orchard Park Rd, Orchard Park, NY 14127). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at the Nativity Cemetery (10 Highland Ave, Orchard Park, NY 14127).
